ProtectGuard Color Heat Control Plant-Based Formula is a concrete colour stain that adds colour, protects against water and oil, and helps keep concrete cooler under the sun.
Its plant-based formula, made with ingredients from corn, beetroot and tree resin, offers a modern way to protect concrete using renewable raw materials while maintaining high performance.
Thanks to its heat control technology, the stain reflects part of the sun’s energy. This helps limit heat build-up on concrete exposed to strong sunlight, improving durability over time, especially on dark colours.
Unlike paint, it penetrates into concrete instead of covering it, keeping a natural mineral look while delivering protection against:
- rain and water penetration
- oil and grease stains (cars, BBQ, tools)
- dirt, pollution and dark marks
Concrete stays cleaner for longer and becomes easier to maintain:
- dirt sticks less
- marks are easier to remove
- most cleaning can be done with clear water
The product also allows concrete to breathe (air and moisture can pass through), which helps maintain its condition over time.
The colour remains stable thanks to strong UV resistance, even in outdoor conditions.

Surface preparation :

1Apply the product to a surface that is clean, dust free, grease-free and dry.

2In case of white traces, laitance, or cement bloom: Clean using Guard Cleaner Surface Preparation until it disappears. This step also allows to open up the porosity of the concrete and allow optimum grip of the protection.

3In case of greasy stains or formwork release oil residues, use Guard Cleaner® Maintenance first.

4Rinse carefully with a pressure washer until the surface is free from all traces of the cleaner. Wait for complete drying through, approximately 24 hours before treatment.
Application :
Application:
• Use neat – do not dilute.
• Mix the product for at least 3 minutes using a
mechanical agitator to homogenise the pigments with the rest of the composition.
Application by HVLP :
• Apply from the bottom up in at least 2 cross coats.
Do not exceed the recommended final consumption of 120 to 160 g/m2.
• Do not overload.
• Drying time between each coat: 15 to 60 minutes
depending on weather conditions. The 1st coat must be dry to the touch before applying the 2nd coat.
Application roller:
• Apply from the bottom up in at least 2 cross coats.
Do not exceed the recommended final consumption of 120 to 160 g/m2.
• Do not overload.
• Drying time between each coat: 15 to 60 minutes depending on weather conditions. The 1st coat must be dry to the touch before applying the 2nd coat.
