ImperGuard® Color Silicate Stain is a mineral concrete stain that colours concrete while strengthening it and protecting it from water penetration.
This silicate-based system reacts directly with concrete to create a durable mineral bond, making the material stronger and more resistant over time.
It is designed to:
- give a uniform colour to concrete
- preserve a natural mineral appearance
- protect against water and moisture
Unlike standard coatings, it also:
- hardens concrete and reduces dust formation
- improves resistance to wear and weather
- creates a long-lasting bond with the material
ImperGuardColor Silicate Stain is a system of two products (colored base + silicate thinner) to obtain a silicate impregnation with low opacity to color and protect exterior or interior concrete facades.
1. Transparent pigmented silicate mineral stain
This stain gives a new aesthetic dimension to the works. It tints, embellishes or standardizes the appearance of concrete while preserving its skin and its minerality. ImperGuard Color Silicate Stain associated with ImperGuard®Color Silicate Thinner can be diluted by default in 3 different levels depending on the desired level of transparency. It is however possible to create a custom opacity by diluting the stain between 1: 2 and 1:10.
2. Water-repellent and mineralizing effect
ImperGuard® Color Silicate Stain has a water-repellent property. It provides lasting protection against the penetration of water and thus limits the harmful effects of humidity: infiltration, acid rain, erosion, freeze / thaw cycle, formation of mosses and lichens, appearance of efflorescence or saltpetre... ImperGuard® Color Silicate Stain also has anti-dust properties. It hardens the surface of concrete to make it less fragile and less dusty.
The system ImperGuard® Color Silicate Stain complies with the AFNOR NFT 36-005 standard: Family I class 1b (products containing at most 5% organic compounds). ImperGuard® Color Silicate Stain is a non film-forming product which perfectly respects the mineral aspect of the concrete. In addition, the backing remains permeable to air and water vapor.Â

Surface preparation :

1The substrate, substrate preparation and product application must comply with the latest French unified codes of building practice 59.1.

2Apply the product to a clean, dust-free, grease-free and dry surface.

3To remove traces of efflorescence, laitance or grout film, use Guard Cleaner® Surface Preparation.

4To remove grease stains, use Guard Cleaner® Maintenance.
-
5Rinse carefully until the surface is free of any trace of cleaner.

6ImperGuard® Color Silicate Stain must be diluted with ImperGuard® Color Silicate Thinner before application. See details of dilution on the Technical Data Sheet.

7After dilution, the mixture can be used for 24 hours.
Application :
- Shake the package well before use in order to fully homogenise the pigments with the rest of the composition. Use an electric stirrer.
- Carry out a preliminary test.
- Apply a first coat of ImperGuard® Color Silicate Stain (usual coverage: 14 to 25 m2/litre).
- Leave to dry 45 min to 1 hour depending on weather.
- Apply a second coat of ImperGuard® Color Silicate Stain
- Â (usual coverage: 14 to 25 m2/litre).
- Apply a third coat if total consumption is not reached.Â
- Protected drying : 24 hours.
- Optimal performance is achieved after 3 days.
