PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
MINERALISANT GUARD is a saltpetre treatment product that enables consolidation of brittle surfaces, worn away by water and damp infiltrations. It also copes with the problems of rising capillary.
MINERALISANT GUARD is a mixture of silicate in aqueous phase, and a hardener of all sorts of absorbent and porous stones, bricks, concrete and cement mortar. Has a very high density
MINERALISANT GUARD uses water as a vehicle, using it to crystallize, harden and mineralise.
MINERALISANT GUARD is used wherever definitive air-drying is necessary ( crumbling etc. …) of facades, walls, casings, basements, screeds, etc.
MINERALISANT GUARD is applied on all supports such as: cement, concrete, natural stones, bricks, plaster and laminate …
CHARACTERISTICS
- Non-flammable
- Non-hazardous, 90% + biodegradable
- Non film-forming, allows the surface to breathe
- Easy to use
- Strong, powerful penetration
- Solvent -free
- Water-borne product
- Can be applied to inside and outside surfaces
- Colourless not modifying neither the aspect nor the nature of the support
COVERAGE PER LITRE
Average coverage given for reference only:
0.5 - 2 m² by spray
2 -5 m² for injection
USAGE
- MINERALISANT GUARD is ready to use
- Spray the support thoroughly with water, until saturation
- Allow to air dry and apply MINERALISANT GUARD in two applications, until saturation.
1st application: 300 to 400 g/ m2.
2nd application, with a minimum 4-hour interval between applications: 200 to 300 g/m2.
APPLICATION EXAMPLES:
- Damp, brittle and saltpetre support: Wet the support well and get rid of traces of saltpetre on the surface. Spray 2 applications until saturation with a 1-hour minimum interval between applications.
- Saltpetre support or very damp with water seepage: Spray the support thoroughly with water. Spray 2 applications until saturation with a 4 hours interval between applications.
- Capillary rise and saltpetre: The treatment is done by injection. At the base of the wall, drill every 25 cm maximum with an incline of 35° towards the ground to 2/3 of the wall thickness. A third of the wall thickness left should not be above 20 cm. If this is not the case, the treatment should also be done on the other side of the wall. Inject in each hole until rejection, then close the holes with a mixture of cement and a 3 to 5% content of Mineralisant Guard.
Note : The night before, run water before injecting to make sure that a hole does not break into a cavity. If there is a cavity, fill it with a slurry (cement/Mineralisant Guard) and then redrill the hole the following day. A wall 30 cm thick will need 2 to 3 kg by linear metre. This can double, or even triple depending on the situation.
- Old basic coating, farinaceous plaster, soft stone: Spray the support with water.
- Spray 2 applications until saturation (4 hour interval between applications).
IMPORTANT COMMENTS
If salts starts to appear on the surface, just brush with a “dogtooth” brush 5 to 8 days after the application. Before all work on paint and laminates, wait 1 to 2 months for the salts surplus to leach out.
